New Releases
Bullseye by Jessica Andersen, Harlequin Intrigue, Big Sky Bounty Hunters,  ISBN:0373228686

Tough. Tenacious. True blue. Secret Service agent Isabella Gray thought those traits described bounty hunter Jacob Powell to a T. When the secretary of defense's family was ambushed on her watch, she knew she needed to recruit the sexy ex-Special Forces soldier for help.

Isabella recognized all too well the shot of adrenaline that pulsed through her former lover upon learning that Big Sky's quarry--militia men on the lam--were behind the abduction. Forced to rely on each other after their rescue mission led to a harrowing plane crash, neither could resist the pent-up emotions churning between them. Once Jacob stumbled upon shocking evidence that an international mastermind could be pulling all the strings, would their red-hot passion chase away the chill of

Peekaboo Baby by Delores Fossen, Harlequin Intrigue, ISBN: 0373228694

Months after the birth of her son, single mom Delaney Nash discovered a horrible truth: the sperm bank she'd used was under investigation for unethical practices. Complicating matters even further was the very real possibility her son's father was none other than Ryan McCall--her sworn enemy.

Suddenly a string of suspicious--and near-fatal--accidents proved that Delaney and her son were in terrible danger. And the only man she could trust to help her uncover the truth was the very same man who was strictly off-limits.  And now, in a race against time, could Delaney and Ryan combat danger--and their stormy past--before it was too late?

Return to Stony Ridge by Dani Sinclair, Harlequin Intrigue, Eclipse, ISBN: 0373228708

It wasn't every day that P.I. Teri Johnson pulled a gun on a man in his own home, but she was desperate. Her sister was in a coma and her missing nephew was in grave danger. She had to find the little boy before he was lost forever--and contractor R. J. Monroe would help her, even if it meant keeping her eyes and gun trained on him at all times.

When their search led them to an eerie mansion with too many secrets, Teri wondered if she was in over her head. Even with R.J. at her side, she still didn't like things that go bump in the night. But Teri would complete her mission at all costs--even at the risk of losing her heart....

Operation: Midnight Tango by Linda Castillo, Harlequin Intrigue, ISBN: 0373228716

Taking gorgeous corrections officer Emily Monroe as his hostage, undercover CIA agent Zack Devlin was trying to escape with his life. But when he helped himself to Emily's full red lips and her body melted into Zack's hard edges, she didn't know if she was in danger or in love.

Both harboring old secrets and heartache, Emily and Zack were forced to run from dark intentions; finding solace in each other's body heat, a shared passion driven by pure adrenaline. But as their search for evidence became a suicide mission, would they die having never said...I love you?

Question of the Month
The last Wednesday in September is Women's Health and Fitness Day. As  authors, we have a sedentary job.
What do you do when you just can't sit still and write for another minute?
How do you keep fit, physically and mentally?

B J Daniels:
With as many hours as I spend in front of a computer screen, it is hard to be fit -- especially when I'm on a deadline -- and I'm always on deadline. :)  I think the hard part is getting into a routine because my best writing time is in the morning and by afternoon there is dinner to fix and other demands.  I have great discipline when it comes to my writing, but working out, no way. That's why playing tennis in a league works well for me. It gets me out of the house and on the court! And I love tennis. I think that's the key. Gotta do something you love.

Rita Herron:
To keep fit physically and mentally, I usually incorporate some kind of physical exercise into my routine daily. Normally I work for two-three hours in the morning, then take a break and walk about three miles, or do an exercise tape. This provides a mental break (I try to think about my story, next scene, plot, etc. while I'm walking), and gives me a physical break from sitting at the desk.  It also makes me feel better and more energized!  I also take small breaks during the day to keep fresh, drink lots of water, and try to get enough sleep, although sometimes my characters keep me awake at night!

Mallory Kane:
I hate exercise. Always have. But about two years ago I started doing yoga with an excellent teacher. I love it! Yoga is wonderful for mental peace and physical exercise. If you do power yoga, like my instructor does, it's good for the spine, the heart, the muscles and for strength. Often, when I'm in shavasana -- the final relaxation pose, my characters talk to me--so for me, yoga is the best!

Sylvie Kurtz:
I'm a walker.  I walk almost every morning.  It wakes up my brain.  I've come up with some great plot twists while letting the brain roam free while I walk.

Dana Marton:
When I can't sit still any longer, I either do a quick chore, a few yoga exercises, or go out to the garden for a few minutes and pull some weeds. Or.... should I confess to this? I go and raid the cabinets for chocolate. :-)

Julie Miller:
My dog, Maxie, is more than calm, occasionally very entertaining!, company when I write. I walk her every morning for regular exercise, and generally, again, later in the day, we'll have another outing. She's got her routine down pat and will get on my case to tell me that we need to go get some exercise and fresh air. If I'm being bad, hunching over my keyboard without taking a break; or if I forget; or if I'm just feeling lazy, she will remind me that we have to get up and move. Her nose is very cold, her terrier bark can be most insistent, and she does this funny dance flat on her belly--all great motivators for getting me up and moving. With her brains and personality, she provides quite the mental break, too. I wonder if I can use my vet bills as a write-off on my writing expenses!

Ann Voss Peterson:
Writing can be hard on the body, not to mention hard on the waistline. So I make sure I spend some time exercising every day. I have recently discovered yoga, which is terrific for all those aches and pains and tight muscles. I also walk four miles each day. My pal Mick, a border collie, walks with me and forces me to keep the routine. If I ever feel like skipping a day, he doesn't give up until he herds me out the door!

Kelsey Roberts:
In truth - I don't keep physically fit, instead, I opted to throw my scale away.  But, I have gotten into yoga in the last year.  It's really relaxing and a great way to clear the mind and regroup.  No, it will never replace the benefits of caffeine for me, but it does offer me a change of scenery when I've been glued to my chair for far too long.

Patricia Rosemoor:
Writing does require too much sitting.  One of the things I love to do is garden.  So that's a break for me.  Even if I'm working outside on my patio, I occasionally get up to do some watering.  I have tons of plants in containers that need constant attention.  Gardening/yard work is only good for half the year, though.  I also swim and take water aerobics.  Gardening lifts my spirits and water buoys my body.

Rebecca York:
I'm not sure I am fit mentally.  <gBut I do try to keep in shape.  I've been going to the gym and doing the recumbent bike and weight machines twice a week for the past twenty years.  A friend and I go together, so each of us shows up in order not to let down the other one.  For the past year, I've also been doing a yoga class once a week--and doing yoga on my own also.  I used to walk for fitness, but my knees are too bad for that now.  For mental health, I try to make sure I do things for fun--movies, bridge, going out to dinner, traveling, gardening, craft projects.
