Film
at Eleven by Kelsey Roberts, Harlequin
Intrigue, The Landry Brothers, ISBN: 0373228554
An impromptu appearance on Montana's favorite morning talk show to promote her new book turned Dr. Molly Jameson's quiet life upside down. And now the brainy beauty had become a media-savvy serial killer's next target. Even worse, Montana's golden boy, the infuriatingly handsome--and very off-limits--anchorman, Chandler Landry, was the only one she could turn to for protection. Though a string of suspicious accidents proved Molly was in terrible danger, forging an intensely passionate relationship with Chandler seemed more frightening than being found by the madman who wanted her dead. But would Molly's fleeting fifteen minutes of harrowing fame lead to a permanent future together with Chandler...or lead her straight to a killer? |

by Dana Marton, Harlequin
Intrigue, ISBN: 0373228597
When Sheik Saeed discovers an unconscious western woman in the desert near a cave sacred to his ancestors, he finds her presence more than suspicious. Her camouflage uniform has no markings, so he surmises she's not in any military but part of some kind of mercenary unit. Could she be working for the people who had stolen part of his clan's ancient treasure from the cave? Or was she hired by the royal family, members of which are trying to assassinate him? Saeed is sure of one thing only: he's not letting the beautiful stranger go until he gets answers to his questions. |

During these hot summer days, what are you working on? A new project? Promoting your latest book? Watching reruns of LOST? Just lazing on the beach trying to reduce your To Be Read pile? Share with readers what's going on with you this summer. B
J Daniels:
Rita Herron: I just got back from a week at the beach which was heavenly. Not only did I get a tan but I caught up on reading some of my favorite authors and friends' books! Of course, I'm also working on the sequel to The Man from Falcon Ridge. which is titled Return to Falcon Ridge and features Rex's brother Deke. That book will be out next year! I'm also working on a new HQN proposal, a paranormal suspense proposal, trying to help my mother recuperate from a recent surgery, and I'm getting ready for the RWA national conference (just splurged on some great clothes tonight). In Reno, I'll be signing my August Harlequin Intrigue, another installment in my eerie, Nighthawk Island series, entitled Mysterious Consequences. Mallory Kane: In Mississippi, it's always hot! Right now is the perfect weather for me to write the third book in the upcoming Miami Confidential series, coming out in mid-2006. My book is called True Lies, and takes place in Miami in July. I'm excited to announce that in the next
several months I have two new Ultimate Agents books coming out.
Seeking
Asylum, in which an FBI agent must go under cover as a mental patient
to save the heroine, a psychiatrist working there, comes out next month--August! And in February, 2006, my fourth Ultimate Agent, Griffin
Stone, must return to his hometown and face his worst nightmare to save
a beautiful private investigator's adopted baby in Lullabies and
Lies. Also watch for my sweet Christmas Eve serial killer story in the Christmas anthology Epiphany, in November of 2005.
Meanwhile, I'm sitting under the air conditioner and trying to write hot
and stay cool.
Susan Kearney: I'm promoting my latest book The Dare, a paranormal romance release from Tor. And I'm very pleased to say it got a 4 1/2 Top Pick from Romantic Times Bookclub Magazine. Promoting means radio shows, mailing postcards, running Internet ads and answering email. It's fun but I also have to keep going on my other projects. I'm finishing the next book in this series, The Ultimatum, due out in February. Besides that, I'm doing edits on my November Extreme Blaze, Beyond the Edge, and starting my anthology for Tor, which will be out next June. Going from project to project keeps me busy and in my head, I'm beginning to plot The Quest. Sylvie Kurtz: What I'd like to be doing is catching up on movies I haven't seen and getting through some of my Everest-size to-be-read pile. Instead, I'll be typing away to meet my next Bombshell deadline. And somewhere in the recesses of my mind, the next story for The Seekers series for Intrigue is brewing. I've been waiting to get to Sabriel's story. He's so quiet, you know he has to be hiding something.... Watch for the next two books, Eye of a Hunter (Aug 2005)--Gray's story, and Pride of a Hunter (Sep 2005) --Dom's story. Julie Miller: My summer is absolutely crazy! Between my husband/son/parents/moi, the whole idea of 'vacation' has gone out this window this year. Work wise, I have two manuscripts to complete by the end of August--a steamy military romance for Harlequin Blaze (Basic Training Mar 2006); and Book #4 in my Precinct mini-series for Intrigue, tentatively titled Top Brass (Sep 2006). I'll get those done in between driver's ed, Scout camp, de-tasselling, Eagle Scout project, summer school class, speaking events, family Christmas in July, and on and on... For fun, I get to attend the RWA conference in Reno (I've never been to a casino!) where I'll meet with my editor and agent and lots of friends and readers, and I'll get to promote my Signature Select Collection--Cornered.. The big news is that we're celebrating
my parents' 50th wedding anniversary this summer! I'm so lucky and blessed
that I belong to them! Their anniversary is actually in November, but my
'little' brother's army unit has been called up for August, and will be
deployed overseas in the fall--and we didn't want him to miss out on the
celebration!
Ann Voss Peterson: This summer I'm sitting in my cool basement office and writing furiously on my three-book Intrigue series that will be out June, July and August of next year. The series revisits the villain from my 2002 Intrigue release, Accessory to Marriage. Serial killer Dryden Kane has been in prison for many long years, and he's ready to wreak a little havoc! So be ready to start looking over your shoulder next summer. Believe me, after immersing myself in serial killer research, I'm already looking over mine! Kelsey Roberts: Summer is always a busy time in my house. Aside from the treadmill of summer camp activities (for my daughter, not me <g>); I'm working on my Miami Confidential book, promoting my July Intrigue, Film at Eleven, and thinking about promotions for my November Ballantine book, Killer Christmas. But, I never pass up a chance to visit the beach. With RWA in late July, I do use my airline time and hotel down time to catch up on my reading. Happy Summer! Dani
Sinclair:
Rebecca York: What am I don't this summer? The usual--working. Right now I'm finishing up a nifty Intrigue. It's called The Secret Night, and it's an Eclipse. The hero and the bad guy are both vampires, so it's really pushing the envelope. |

D.B.
Hayes, Detective
by Dani Sinclair,
Lipstick
Ltd, ISBN: 0373228546
So what if my two biggest clients were a known mobster and a ten-year-old kid looking for his cat--business was business. Until Brandon Kirkpatrick walked into my life and made business murder. The sexy detective was officially my competition, but when our cases crossed paths both our lives were suddenly dangerously in the red. Murder and mayhem were multiplying faster than the stray cats in my apartment.
